What the heck, I need a new journal entry anyhow.1. When did you get into art?
I've been drawing forever.2. What art-related sites have you ever signed up for?
Deviantart, Furaffinity, Artstation<- Never use that one. And Tumblr, even though I'm not a fan of tumblr it's a good place to get your work out there!3. Show us your oldest piece of art you have on hand.
I present to you with much hesistation, my first ever photoshop drawing:4. What defines your artistic style?
I'm going to say hopefully my thick no less than pt5 outlines, and hard cel shading style coloring?5. Do you practice other styles/have you tried other styles in the past?
I practice a variety of styles. Realistic, simplistic, cartoon, anime. The hardest shift was going from anime to a more western style.
I refer to that phase as "The Great Artistic Depression of 2013-2015."6. What levels of artistic education have you had?
I credit most of my artistic skills to my 3rd grade art class that was amazing, dA tutorials and studying/Imitation. When I moved, I was relocated to a place that believes more in football than art. The best class I've had were college level courses. Life drawing, everyone needs to take like drawing. It's amazing, humans are amazing.7. Show us at least one picture you drew or sketched recently that you did not put on a public site.
Plenty of unfinished sketches, but I like this one!8. What is your favourite piece that you have done?
Tough call! Probably these ones.9. What is your least favourite piece that you have done?
This whole comic, but especially this page.
The colors are muddy, the action and poses are stiff and awful and just don't translate, the whole thing I should shove into storage and re-do.10. What do you like most about your art?
The colors and how I've developed. It's taken three years, but I'm finally getting closer to a style I want.11. What do you like least about your art?
The lack of backgrounds. I use the same coloring style almost all the time. My work is very repetitive.12. Have you ever considered taking commissions?
I do take commissions! I prefer to work with pixel art and icons more than illustrations for random folk. Friends and people I can trust not to back out I'll do illustrations for. (P.S. Furaffinity is where 99% of my commissions/income come from.)13. Are you looking to pursue a career in art?
Sort of, I always wanted to be part of animation, now not so much. Illustration is more my game, I'd love to make a comic but I have trouble committing to it. The thought of drawing everything alone is daunting, but it's easier now that I've got a friend to help me out with other elements of it! Maybe one day I'll get off my lazy butt. But until then I wouldn't mind having a job or just continue doing commissions. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm just not sure where I'm headed currently.14. What do you like drawing the most?
(Gently grabs your shoulders.) Characters, My characters, and especially my friends characters. It's such an honor to learn about other peoples creations and I just get so pumped when I get to draw their characters. Of course I'll draw my own on occasion too. Expressive characters and characters interacting are my favorites. Model sheets, I love drawing model sheets.15. What do you like drawing the least?
Cars, I've bought multiple police cruiser models to work from instead. Working from your own resources is not cheating, art has no right or wrong way.16. Do you draw more fanart or original art? If fanart, what fandom do you draw the most of?
I used to draw fanart and fan characters. I usually stick to more original creations these days, but I can't help a self-insert or two, or fan art of friends works.17. What would you absolutely refuse to draw?
I'm pretty open to everything. I don't mind NSFW art, but I definitely couldn't draw anything lewd myself, I just lack the skill and interest.18. What medium/program do you use the most in your art?
Clip Studio paint has such superior stabilization to photoshop. But I use photoshop for coloring/effects so both.19. How would you rank your art? (poor, mediocre, good, etc.)
Good. Could be better.20. Do you believe there is such thing as “bad art?”
There's incomplete art, and process art, but I don't think there's "bad art". It takes time to learn and grow.21. List at least one of your “artspirations.”
So many, The biggest influence so far is probably Steven E. Gordon's
earlier work on X-men evolution.
(I refer to these almost monthly lol.)
Then there are my many artistic rivals or inspirations who I aspire to be equal to or surpass! (Luckily, most of them are my friends!)

-DonnKinney dconthedancefloor.tumblr.com22. What do you think you could stand to improve on?
A bit of everything. Especially environments.23. Do you have a shameful art past? (recolour sprite comics, tracing art, etc.?)
Many bad fan characters and bases. But that's part of the process.
Well that was fun.
